Objectives
Recedant Vetera
This website is designed to host a digitised corpus of Italian emblem books from the Stirling Maxwell Collection (University of Glasgow).
Its primary objectives are:
- making texts and engraved images of the selected books freely accessible online, contributing at once to their circulation and to their preservation;
- supplying both specialist and non specialist users with advanced facilities for browsing, searching, displaying the corpus;
Moreover, texts and images will be accompanied by a great amount of additional information, to be progressively increased.
